Technical Editor

The ideal candidate must be able to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing, be willing to be a part of the project management, work closely with writers and PMs to ensure technical accuracy, and work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
The editor will be expected to:

Edit all content types and associated artwork for grammar, punctuation, spelling, consistency of terminology, organization, logic, technical accuracy, and adherence to style guidelines

Perform all levels of editing (developmental, line, and copy edits)

Ensure that all content adheres to product branding requirements and terminology, meets clients editorial standards, complies with clients legal requirements, and is audience-appropriate

Ensure that appropriate formatting is applied to content to facilitate production and conversion to other formats Qualifications:
The editor must be experienced in editing technical documentation, have solid developmental editing skills, and the usual array of grammar and copy-editing skills.
Qualified candidates must be able to:

Work closely with the lead editor, the writers, developers, and other team members to assure quality documentation, UI, and error messages

Create indexes

Work well both independently and on teams Required:

2-4 years of editing in a technical environment

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, and Excel A BA or BS in English, Technical Communications, or related discipline is preferred.
Experience using any or all of the following documentation, software, and tools: The Microsoft Manual of Style for Technical Publications (MSTP), Visio, HTML and XML files, some JavaScript
