Programmer Editor

Immediate opening for a skilled Technical Editor to support API documentation published for a developer audience. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of editorial excellence in programmer documentation for one or more of the technologies included in various SDKs.
The ideal candidate has the following experience:

3+ years of experience as a Technical Editor working on Software Development Kits (SDKs)

2+ years editing documentation for a programmer audience

2+ years experience editing documentation in XML
-
Solid skills in both developmental and copy editing

Experience in a challenging, fast-paced environment with multiple publishing partners and deliverables

Experience with project management and leading change

Solid understanding of style guides and the developer audience Other helpful skills:

Great decision-making and planning skills

Ability to handle overlapping deadlines for multiple deliverables

Independence and drive for results

Reading and writing knowledge of C/C++, C#, or VB

Demonstrated excellence in communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills Deliverables: The API editor supports 3 writers producing a high volume of content in a continuous publishing environment. Content types include both short- and long-form text such as:

Software Development Kits (SDKs) for search, contextual, and other products

API program communications and forms (program invitation; token request forms; assistance escalation form; code completion checklist; etc)

Technical articles

Customer e-mails about product updates Other responsibilities: Maintain current guidelines for editing the API SDK; create processes, schedules, and terminology lists for new projects.
